SWJAL is a prominent Water for Injection (WFI) systems manufacturer in Mumbai, India, specializing in delivering high-purity water solutions to the pharmaceutical industry. Our systems are meticulously designed to adhere to stringent regulatory standards like USP, EP, and JP, ensuring the production of WFI that meets the most demanding quality requirements.
With a deep understanding of pharmaceutical processes, we offer comprehensive WFI solutions tailored to specific client needs. Water for Injection (WFI) systems incorporate advanced technologies and robust construction to deliver reliable and consistent WFI production.
This ensures contamination-free manufacturing processes and maintains the purity and effectiveness of injectable drugs and implantable devices. It helps to prevent contamination throughout the manufacturing process, safeguarding the purity and effectiveness of injectable drugs and implantable devices.
Distillation is a traditional process by using Heat and cool effects to generate WFI for many years.
The process involves feeding water in a heat exchanger, transforming it into steam to pass through different levels of separator. Which uses centrifuges to trap involuntary pyrogens, endotoxins and other harmful particles. The increase in the number of columns reduces the consumption of utilities and lowers operating costs. SWJAL provides a Multi Effect Distillation Plant (MED) with up to 8 columns for distillation process providing 70-80 % water recovery.
Cold WFI (Water for Injection) production utilizes reverse osmosis (RO) membranes as a cost-effective and space-saving alternative to traditional distillation methods.
Pre-treated water undergoes RO, where it’s forced through a semipermeable membrane at high pressure. This membrane allows pure water molecules to pass through while rejecting contaminants like ions and minerals. However, to meet stringent purity requirements, this permeate often undergoes further treatment with a secondary membrane like EDI or ultrafiltration. This additional step removes any remaining bacteria, endotoxins, or large organic molecules that might have slipped through the RO membrane.
WFI systems produce high-purity water through a multi-stage process involving pre-treatment, distillation, deionization, and sterilization. Advanced technologies like reverse osmosis and ultrafiltration may also be employed to enhance water quality.
